DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE TEMPORARY GYMNASIUM IN CHASSIEU
The town of Chassieu has invested in a temporary gymnasium to enable its sporting activities to continue during the renovation of its municipal gymnasium.
To enable local associations — volleyball, archery, karate, rhythmic gymnastics, and judo — as well as middle school students to continue their activities without interruption, the municipality entrusted GL events with the construction of a temporary replacement building.
This new 1,750 m² facility (25 x 70 m) features a large central area dedicated to sports practice, complemented by modular locker rooms equipped with sanitary facilities and showers.
From its initial design, the gymnasium was conceived to provide optimal conditions for sporting activities. The structure is covered with a double insulated roof ensuring thermal comfort throughout the year, while the walls are clad with micro-perforated sandwich panels with OSB lining to reduce sound resonance. The flooring consists of a cassette system topped with a sports-appropriate surface suitable for all disciplines.
Finally, our teams oversaw the complete installation of the electrical distribution system, as well as a ventilation and heating solution, guaranteeing a functional and comfortable environment in all seasons.

Thanks to screw-pile foundations and a modular, flexible design ensuring faster installation, the entire project was completed in a record time of just 5 weeks.
As a result, the City of Chassieu now benefits from a fully functional temporary gymnasium, perfectly suited to the community’s sporting needs for the entire duration of the renovation works.
